Spec
A plain list of choices where there are only a few and nothing to type: Paid from on a bill, From and To in Move money, How often.
Look
- A label above it, always visible, like every field.
- At least 44px high, a 1px border in border-control, radius md, on surface-raised, in the input text style (16px).
- A chevron at the right. It is the browser's own select, so the browser draws the chevron and the list of choices, and phones show their own picker.
- The standard focus ring: border-focus, 2px, 2px away.
Rules
- For a short, fixed list. Where people type to find something (a payee, a category), use the combobox or the category picker.
- It always shows a choice; when nothing fits yet, the first choice says what to do ("Choose an account").
- A hint sits under the label. An error is red text with an icon and words under the field, and the border turns to border-error at 2px.
